Prof Jasmeet Soar is a consultant in anaesthesiology and critical care medicine at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust, Bristol, UK.  Jas has a major interest in cardiac arrest and resuscitation and has had a number of national and international roles. He has been a past chair of the Resuscitation Council UK, the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Task Force Chair of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation, and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) ALS Science and Education Committee. He recently led and completed the Royal College of Anaesthetists National Audit Project on Perioperative Cardiac Arrest, and was lead author for the ERC ALS Guidelines in 2025.  He is an editor of the journal Resuscitation and an Honorary Professor at The Warwick Clinical Trials Unit, Warwick Medical School. Jas's interests include the use of data to improve care, and ensuring we have evidence based resuscitation guidelines that improve the outcomes that matter to patients.
