Kristina Powell, MD, FAAP
Kristina Powell, MD, FAAP is a general pediatrician in Williamsburg, Virginia where she has practiced at Pediatric Associates of Williamsburg for 20 years. She studied medical school at SUNY Health Science Center Upstate in Syracuse and completed her internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She worked as a hospitalist in Baltimore for two years before moving to Williamsburg.
Kristina is active in the Virginia Chapter of the AAP. She served as the Eastern Delegate, the Chapter’s Treasurer, the Vice President and is now the President.
Through her work with the AAP, Kristina advocated for the passage of legislation to get non-student specific Epinephrine in the school system. She is also the quality improvement chair for the Virginia AAP and has worked on projects involving HPV vaccination, mental health, and social and emotional screening. She has been active in bringing Bridge2ResourcesVA, a social needs platform, to Virginia providers.
Kristina has served on the Eastern Fatality Board, the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, the HPV Taskforce Virginia, Fortify Clinically Integrated Network Board, the Governor’s Task Force for Primary Care, and the Williamsburg Community Collaboration. She is also involved in the School Health Committee of the VA- AAP and volunteers locally in Williamsburg-James City County on the Health Advisory Board. She is the lead physician for Pediatric Associates of Williamsburg, a practice of CMG of CHKD.
She lives in Williamsburg with her husband and three children. Interests included running, scuba diving, biking, and hiking.
