Lauren Thornton received her Master of Science degree in nutrition from James Madison University in 2006. Lauren has worked as a registered dietitian (RD) for 18 years at Inova Health System. She has spent the last 14 years with Inova transplant center. Lauren has been a Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian (CCTD) since its inception in 2020. As a transplant dietitian, Lauren completes comprehensive nutritional assessments for solid organ transplant candidates and recipients. She educates patients on nutritional needs throughout the transplant process and works with patients to optimize their nutritional status before and after transplant.
