In 2017, Dr.Gabriel (formerly Hezkial) completed 2-year CODA accredited residency program at University of Kentucky in Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. There are only 12 other programs like this one in the United States graduating a total of 25 students a year. 

In June 2021, she opened her private practice in Orofacial Pain. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. 

She received her DDS degree in 2001, then practiced general dentistry in multiple settings. After years of general dentistry, she decided her passion was treating patients with sleep apnea, and facial pain and especially those patients with headaches, thus, she went on to train at University of Kentucky Orofacial pain program, where she saw more than 400 patients, and since 2021 managed more than 3300 patients. 

As a practice limited to Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine, her treatment philosophy does NOT include altering the patient’s bite. Treatment modalities for facial pain include patient education, basic physical medicine, injection therapy, nerve blocks, Botox, laser therapy, medication management, and conservative therapy with dental appliances. She treats neuralgias, burning mouth syndrome, headaches, TMD, post-radiation oral cancer patients, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Myofascial Pain, and atypical facial pain, as well as trained in smoke cessation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 

Dr. Gabriel is affiliated with Inova Fairfax hospital, and you can find her on Inova website as the only Orofacial Pain provider under the Oral Surgery department. 

Dr. Gabriel acknowledges the Opioid crisis in the dental setting, she served on an expert panel and co-authored a paper through John Hopkin’s University that was published in the International Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery focused on, “Opioid Guidelines for Common Dental Surgical Procedures.” 

She is a mother of 3 teens, and avid soccer fan who cheers for Liverpool!
