Katya De La Torre, DO, DABOM, is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and faculty member at Inova Primary Care – Fair Oaks. She specializes in lifestyle and obesity medicine, osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), and global health education, with a strong commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered primary care.
Dr. De La Torre serves as a lead for the Residency Global Health Track, Lifestyle and Obesity Medicine Track, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Track. She is actively involved in clinical teaching, curriculum development, and longitudinal didactics for residents and medical students. Through the Global Health Track, she helps coordinate and lead annual medical brigades to Pinares, Honduras, where residents and medical students participate in providing care to underserved communities while gaining hands-on global health experience.
She directs the Lifestyle and Obesity Medicine Clinic, integrating evidence-based obesity treatment, behavioral counseling, and osteopathic principles into chronic disease management. She also leads shared medical visits focused on lifestyle and weight management, fostering community support and patient engagement in long-term health change.
