Kathleen Connell

Dr. Connell is the Division Chief and William B. Goddard MD Endowed Professor in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine.
Dr. Kathleen Connell received her medical degree and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. She is double board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.
In her practice, Dr. Connell is the Co-Director of the Urogyncology Clinic and the Multidisciplinary Pelvic Floor Disorders Program at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Her surgical practice focuses on treating pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, and reconstructive pelvic surgery.
Dr. Connell is a former scholar of the NICHD Women's Reproductive Health Research Program. Her translational research focuses on the effects of aging, menopause and other conditions on the pelvic connective tissues with the ultimate goal of preventing pelvic organ prolapse and developing new treatment options via personalized medicine. She is actively involved in advancing scientific research in women's health and serves on the Basic Science Subcommittee for the American Urogynecologic Society and is the current Chair of the Basic Science Interest Group for the International Urogynecology Society.
