Rachel Modarelli, M.D., is a board‑certified Pediatric Endocrinologist, whose career integrates clinical care, research, and medical education. After completing her residency at Duke University and her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, she joined Inova Children’s in 2025 as a pediatric endocrinologist, where she also leads the elective rotation for residents and medical students. Her scholarly work spans pediatric diabetes, menstrual health, adrenal disorders, and newborn endocrine screening. She has presented widely at national and regional meetings and contributed to different industry‑sponsored clinical trials focused on type 1 diabetes and osteogenesis imperfecta. Alongside her research, Dr. Modarelli is an active educator, leading lectures, and curriculum initiatives, and remains committed to advancing high‑quality endocrine care for children and adolescents. Dr. Modarelli discovered her passion for pediatric endocrinology early in her medical journey and is thrilled to continue her path at Inova. She enjoys working with pediatric patients of all ages and is deeply committed to education, partnering with patients and their families to achieve their goals. Outside of work, Dr. Modarelli loves spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and curling up with a good book.
