Ali Ahmad, DO

Dr. Ali Ahmad is a pediatric intensivist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, specializing in pediatric critical care medicine. He completed his pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC and pediatric residency at Miami Children's Hospital in Miami, FL. He graduated from medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. Prior to Georgetown, Dr. Ahmad served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for over 5 years. His research focuses on critical illness and pulmonary disease in immunocompromised children, neurocritical care, and quality improvement. He has participated in clinical trials related to fluid administration in pediatric sepsis. In recognition of his contributions to quality improvement, Dr. Ahmad received the MD Anderson Celebration of Faculty Excellence in Quality Improvement & Patient Safety. Dr. Ahmad is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties in Neurocritical Care.
