Dr. Melanie Subramanian is a general thoracic surgeon at Inova Health System. She is board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery. She received her medical school education from Harvard Medical School and went on to complete general surgery resident and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. She joined the Inova thoracic surgery faculty in 2024. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

She currently practices at Inova Fairfax Hospital as well as Inova Alexandria Hospital.

She is passionate about providing patients with comprehensive and personalized treatment using the latest in evidence-based medicine. She is committed to providing comprehensive thoracic care for patients in the DMV area.
