Dr. Dagne Assefa is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist and sleep medicine specialist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He completed his M.D. at Addis Ababa University and his Dr. Med at the University of Leipzig (magna cum laude), followed by pediatric residency training in Germany and the U.S., and a fellowship at New York Medical College. Dr. Assefa directs the L.J. Murphy Inova Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Program and co-directs the Inova Cystic Fibrosis Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Chest Physicians, and an active member of the American Thoracic Society, the European Respiratory Society, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
