Emily Morris, MD

Emily A. Morris, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She completed her Pediatric residency (2015) at the University of Michigan and her Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
In her current role, Dr. Morris’s clinical time is split between the Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Monroe Carell and the Fetal Center at Vanderbilt. Her main clinical interests include complex surgical and cardiac pathology as well as term respiratory failure. She is an associate medical director of the NICU, co-director of the Fetal Center at Vanderbilt, member of the neonatal ECMO team and leads several quality improvement initiatives. Over the past 18 months, she worked with Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Gatta to develop the Bereavement Delivery Pathway for women affected with life-limiting fetal conditions. In these roles, she also serves on the Neonatal Mortality Review, Family Planning Quality Committee, and Maternal Mortality Review Committee, and works closely with clinical ethics regarding challenging cases in the NICU.
