Catherine Takacs Witkop, MD, PhD, MPH
Dr. Catherine Witkop is the Associate Dean for Medical Education and Professor of Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics and Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University (USU). She earned her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, her MPH at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a PhD in Health Professions Education at USU.
Throughout her career, in clinical care, research and medical education, Dr. Witkop has worked to advance the optimization of patient-centered care for women, with particular interest in shared decision making, clinical preventive services, and midlife/menopausal healthcare. Dr. Witkop is a Menopause Society Certified Provider and, in 2024, led the establishment of a Women’s Midlife Telehealth Clinic at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She is an active Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) and currently serves as Chair of the Multidisciplinary Steering Committee for the Women’s Preventive Services Initiative, otherwise known as WPSI.
