Homan Wai, MD

Homan Wai, MD, FACP, serves as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Inova Campus. From 2015 to 2025, Dr. Wai held the role of Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine at the Inova Campus. He also directed the Internship Readiness Course and co-supervised the Climate Change and Health elective at UVA School of Medicine. Dr. Wai earned both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University and currently practices as an Adult Hospitalist at Inova Fairfax Hospital. His professional interests include mentorship, career development, and supporting students in their transition to residency. He is a member of the Core Competency Committee for the Inova Internal Medicine Residency Program and has contributed nationally as a member of the Symposium Program Planning Committee and Abstract Review Lead for the Transition to Residency (TTR) group. Dr. Wai is also a founding member of Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action, an organization dedicated to educating and mobilizing healthcare professionals to advocate for climate solutions that protect public health in Virginia.
