Senior Advisor, Inova Schar Heart & Vascular

Dr. Levy is an interventional cardiologist and has served as President and Chief Medical Officer of Virginia Heart from 1998 - 2022.  Dr. Levy has been instrumental in growing Virginia Heart from its inception when there were 18 physicians to its current recognized preeminent status in the mid-Atlantic with 54 physicians and 29 advanced practitioners.  After dedicating three years to succession planning, Dr. Levy has just stepped down from his practice leadership position and has taken on a leadership role with the Inova Health System as a Senior Advisor to the Inova Schar Heart & Vascular (ISHV).

Dr. Levy has served in several leadership positions both locally and nationally.  He has chaired and served on many hospital-based committees, the medical executive committee, the CEO council of INOVA Fairfax hospital, committees of the American College of Cardiology, medical school admissions committees and has helped organize the physician programs of MedAxiom and served on their Advisory Council.  Dr Levy appears regularly on local and national television and local radio for expert opinion in the area of cardiovascular medicine. He developed and has directed the ISHV Physician & APP Leadership Development Program at Inova since 2017.

Dr. Levy received his medical degree with honors from The George Washington School of Medicine where he completed his residency and fellowship training. He maintains a teaching position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine
