Murteza Shahkolahi, Emergency Medicine Physician
Murteza Shahkolahi, MD is a dedicated emergency medicine physician at Inova Fairfax Medical Center's Emergency Department. He earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at George Washington University, where he served as chief resident during his final year. Dr. Shahkolahi is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Shahkolahi is a Medical Officer with FEMA’s Incident Support Team and serves as a Medical Team Manager with the VA-TF1 / USA-1 Fairfax County, Virginia Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. He has participated in numerous deployments, including the recent response to the Türkiye earthquake in February 2023.
