Cara Radonich, DNP, FNP-C

Cara has been a clinician within the field of Wound Healing for the past 10 years. Initially as a Registered Nurse before transitioning into a Nurse Practitioner role after completing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Shepherd University in 2021. She was driven to make this change to become a Nurse Practitioner to do more for the patients she cared for. Cara pursued the knowledge needed to carefully analyze the patient’s overall picture of health and be able to make decisions that would lead to positive outcomes for her patients. One of the reasons she enjoys the field of wound care is because of the many factors that play a role in a patient’s ability to heal. She works closely with other specialists in the care of her patients providing a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Cara also enjoys the development and ongoing relationship between her and the patient. She feels it’s a partnership to get the patient healed and into remission.
In addition to serving the wound care patient population, Cara has also become specialized within the field of Hyperbaric Medicine. She frequently oversees the care of patients who need Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO). HBO therapy is a treatment modality used for a wide range of diagnosis to include: compromised or failed flaps, diabetic foot ulcers, arterial ulcers, carbon monoxide poisoning, and soft tissue radionecrosis.
