Sudha Chandrasekhar, MD., MPH., MS., FAAP., FABM
Dr. Sudha completed her medical training in Madras Medical College, India and Pediatric residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She established and ran a successful solo practice for 15 years in Phoenix, before selling it to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and continued to work in their outpatient wing for 5 years. Her interest in Pediatric Palliative Care is rooted in a long history of caring for children with medical complexity. In 2021, she completed a 1 year accelerated online MS in Palliative Care, a program run by Dr. Lynn McPherson University of Maryland Baltimore, graduating as the valedictorian of the class of 2022. Most recently, she completed her Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) before joining us in August as the Regional Leader of Pediatric Palliative Care. She has been invited to serve as Adjunct Faculty for the new Pediatric Palliative Care track of the online MS program at UMB. In addition, Dr. Sudha has a Masters in Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) from the University of Hawaii; completed her Fellowship training in Forensic Pediatrics and served as part time faculty at ChildHelp Children’s Center AZ; and is a Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
