Dr. DeSimone was raised in Fairfax, Va, attended Medical College of Virginia, and completed her internship and dual internal medicine/dermatology residency at Medstar Georgetown,  serving as Chief resident in her final year.  Dr. DeSimone then pursued a fellowship in cutaneous oncology at Brigham and Womens hospital, focusing on cutaneous lymphoma and keratinocyte cancers in organ transplant recipients.  She is affiliated with the UVA INOVA clinical program as associate professor of dermatology and is active in medical student and resident training.   Dr. DeSimone is the director of cutaneous lymphoma and high risk dermatology at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute working  in outpatient care and clinical research.
