Greg Gaski, MD
Dr. Gaski is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He is a proud member of the Orthopedic Trauma Surgery team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Dr. Gaski completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and earned his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude from both institutions. He completed orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida and further specialized by pursuing an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
His areas of interest and clinical expertise include treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures, care of multiply injured patients, and nonunion. He applies a personalized approach to injury with his patients and has devoted a significant of time to research on ‘Precision Medicine in Orthopedic Trauma.’ Research and education also remain important aspects of Dr. Gaski’s career. He has published over 70 journal articles, written textbook chapters in the field of orthopedic surgery, and is the editor of Synopsis of Orthopaedic Trauma Management. Dr. Gaski is an investigator on several research studies and teaches residents at national fracture courses each year. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, an active member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association, and is on the Science Committee of the Major Extremity Trauma Research and Rehabilitation Consortium (METRC). Dr. Gaski takes great pride and feels fortunate to participate in education University of Virginia medical students and orthopedic surgery residents from Georgetown University and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine- Inova Campus. Before joining the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus trauma team, he was Program Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship and Associate Program Director of the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at Indiana University Methodist Hospital.
A native of Cleveland, OH, Dr. Gaski currently resides in northern Virginia with his wife, son and two daughters. In spare time he enjoys biking, resistance training, golfing, and watching his beloved Cleveland Browns play during football season.
