Sarah Durrin, MD
Sarah Durrin, MD, is a general pediatrician at Children’s National Hospital with interests in health equity, advocacy, and community health. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Boston University, she joined Teach for America and taught high school science on the southwest side of Chicago. During that time, she worked as a student advisor, became the Science and Engineering Department Chair, and worked as a science content specialist with Teach for America. She later transitioned to medicine, attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine and graduating Alpha Omega Alpha and a member of the Gold Humanism Society. She completed her pediatric and chief residencies at Children’s National Hospital. She then worked as a general pediatrician with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo Nation, providing inpatient and outpatient care, attending deliveries, and treating newborns in the nursery. She recently returned to Children’s National, where she works primarily as a primary care provider in the Columbia Heights clinic.
