David Finkelstein, M.D., completed a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University followed by a graduate degree from Georgetown University. He attended medical school at University of Illinois College of Medicine prior to pediatric residency at Children’s National Hospital. He completed pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and returned to Children’s National as a faculty member.

Dr. Finkelstein has a deep interest in clinical cardiology and medical education. He sees patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at the main campus in Washington, D.C., as well as at cardiology clinic locations in Friendship Heights, Montgomery County, Frederick, and Virginia Hospital Center.
