Jennifer Fritzeen MSN, RN, TCRN, PCNS-BC is currently the Trauma and Burn Program Manager at Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC. Jennifer has been with the Trauma and Burn Program since 2010. Prior to joining the Trauma and Burn Program Jennifer was the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency Department at Children’s National Hospital and the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Pediatric Critical Care Center at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Jennifer has over 30 years of pediatric nursing experience with a clinical background in PICU, ED, and Burn Care.
Jennifer has served as pediatric faculty at VisionEm where she teaches Pediatric Care After Resuscitation since 2012. She has served as faculty at Indiana University and Catholic University of America.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University. She completed her master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a concentration in pediatric critical care and nursing education from Indiana University.
Jennifer has served on local and regional committees to advance the care of trauma and burn patients. Her professional activities include Program Chair (2-019-2021) and a member of the Nurse Leader steering committee (2020-2021) for the Pediatric Trauma Society. She serves on the board of directors for the Washington DC Childhelp board of directors. She has served as a pediatric content expert in the development of pediatric trauma and burn guidelines in the DC Metro area. Jennifer has authored over 30 peer reviewed publications and has been funded as co-investigator on nationally funded research grants.
