Dr. Alecia L. S. Stein is the Interim Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia and an Associate Professor at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. She received her Medical Degree from Louisiana State University and completed her residency and pediatric fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is currently also the Associate Program Director of the UM Residency training program, Director of Resident Simulation Education, and Director of Education for the UM/Jackson Memorial Center for Patient Safety. Dr. Stein is a member of the Dean’s Faculty Council, serves on the Florida Society of Anesthesiology Board of Directors as Chair of the Program Committee, planning the FSA Annual Meeting, and is a Florida Delegate to the ASA. She is also active in the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia as a member of the Education Committee, served as Workshops Program Shadow in 2023, and reviewer for workshops and PBLDs. She has traveled internationally to participate in medical mission trips in developing countries, such as Haiti. Research interests include pediatric regional anesthesia, pediatric ophthalmic anesthesia, and undergraduate and graduate medical patient safety education.
