Monica Pearl, M.D., is a board-certified American Board of Radiology diplomate with subspecialty fellowship training and certification in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology. She is a Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Director of the Neurointerventional Radiology Program at Children's National Hospital, and the Co-Director of the Hemimegalencephaly Program at Children's National Hospital.
She received her undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Doctor of Medicine from Duke University. Dr. Pearl trained in general surgery and diagnostic radiology at the George Washington University and completed fellowships in both Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Johns Hopkins University, where she was on faculty from 2010 – 2020. She joined the faculty at Children's National full time in 2020.
Her career is dedicated to the care of children with neurovascular disorders, and she brings her expertise to Children’s National Hospital in the areas of cerebrovascular pathology, novel CNS drug delivery platforms and innovative endovascular therapies for CNS disorders including intractable seizures due to hemimegalencephaly.
