Alexandra Yoon, MD
Dr. Alex Yoon completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and History from the College of William and Mary and medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University, where she was awarded Resident Teaching Award of Excellence, and has developed interests in cross-cultural and community psychiatry. Dr. Yoon is currently a second-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellow and serving as the outpatient chief at Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Yoon has presented and published papers, journal/newspaper articles and posters, at psychiatric conferences and media. She was an awardee and the Vice Chair of the APAF/SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program where she has been working with community leaders, Korean American parents and youth to promote mental health literacy and youth suicide prevention. Dr. Yoon is passionate about working with minority population, transitional age youth, women and their family.
