Dr. Vitola completed her medical degree and masters in public health at the University of Illinois. She then went on to complete her Pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and her Gastroenterology Fellowship at Washington University and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Dr. Vitola returned to Cincinnati to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology after which she joined the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee from 2010-2021.  She joined MedStar Georgetown and become the Director of Hepatology at Children's National in 2021. She provides care to children with a variety of liver diseases as well as those requiring liver and intestinal transplant.
