Dr. Chambers Gurson is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist with a special interest in fetal cardiology and pediatric/congenital echocardiography.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Biology (Cognitive Neuroscience) at Harvard University, before moving to New York City where she obtained her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.  She remained at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan for her pediatrics residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship and, after completing her fellowship training in 2010, accepted a position as a pediatric cardiologist at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx with an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Dr. Chambers practiced at Montefiore for 5 years, with a focus on non-invasive pediatric cardiology and fetal cardiology, becoming the Director of the Fetal Heart Program in 2013 and the Interim Director of the Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory in 2014.  She has practiced in Northern Virginia since 2016 with the group that has evolved from Pediatric Cardiology Associates PLLC to Pediatric Cardiology Associates, A Mednax Associate, to Inova Children’s Cardiology.  She is currently the Director of the Fetal Heart Program for the Inova Children’s Heart Center.

Dr. Chambers’ clinical and research interests have been in the areas of echocardiography with a special emphasis on fetal cardiology. She has published articles in peer-reviewed medical journal, has been an invited speaker at regional and national conferences in pediatric and fetal cardiology, and has participated in national groups working on quality improvement in pediatric cardiology and pediatric echocardiography.  She has also participated in international medical missions focused on pediatric cardiology.

A native of Northern Ireland, Dr. Chambers had a somewhat nomadic childhood, living in the Caribbean and Guernsey (Great Britain) before her family settled in the United States when she was a teenager.  After experiencing New York City for 15 years, she moved to the Northern Virginia where she lives with her family.  In her free time, she enjoys swimming, running, reading, and travel.  She loves languages and speaks professionally proficient Spanish.
