Andrew Colin, MD
Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Pediatric Pulmonology Division, at the University of Miami.
Completed medical studies in Bologna, Italy, and Technion-Israel-Institute-of-Technology, Haifa, Israel. Associate-Chief of Department of Pediatrics of a Technion-affiliate. Fellowships in pediatric pulmonology in Jerusalem and Boston-Children's-Hospital/Harvard-Medical-School. Faculty at Harvard University for 15 years; Associate Professor, Clinical-Chief of the pulmonary program, and in charge of the Pediatric Pulmonary Clerkship.
Research spans respiratory and developmental physiology, CF, lung infections, pediatric HIV, bronchoscopy, pediatric chest radiology, and clinical studies in Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatrics; >120 publications including peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Over 250 invited lectures around the globe.
Editorial Board of “Pediatric Pulmonology” for >25 years, reviewer for multiple journals, active member of ATS and ERS. A Founding-Father and in leadership positions of International Congress of Pediatric Pulmonology (CIPP); President of its Paris and Bangkok congresses.
He directs the Pediatric Pulmonary fellowship training program at the University of Miami, only one of two programs in Florida. Through his career, he trained some 60 fellows in pediatric pulmonology, in the US and abroad. The first ever recipient of the “PEDS Lifetime Contributions to Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Award” of the ATS Assembly on Pediatrics. At Harvard, received a Pulmonology Teaching Award named after him, and 2004 Klaus Peter International Teaching Award. Named Honorary Fellow of the Pediatric Pulmonary Societies of Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand and the Pediatric Society of Guatemala.
