Cara Lichtenstein, MD, MPH

Cara Lichtenstein, MD, MPH, is a primary care pediatrician in Silver Spring Maryland and Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is the Director of Health Equity Education for the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s National Hospital. From 2007- 2021 she ran the Leadership in Advocacy, Under-resourced Communities and Health Equity (LAUnCH) Track of the Children’s National Pediatric Residency Program’s. She also directed the General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship at Children’s National from 2014-2021. She has also held several national roles including serving on the Health Resources and Services Administration Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry, the Editorial Board for the journal Academic Pediatrics, the Educational Subcommittee of the Academic Pediatric Association’s Taskforce on Childhood Poverty that worked to develop a national poverty curriculum, and the National Board of Medical Examiners USMLE Step 3 Computer-based Case Simulation Test Material Development Committee.
